Israeli PM Says Big Gaps Remain To End Ukraine-Russia Conflict

INTERNATIONAL: Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who has been trying to mediate an end to the Ukraine-Russia conflict, said on Monday ,March 21, that despite some progress big gaps have remained between the sides.

"This is the best thing that can happen, that this war will end. But the road is still long as there are some issues still in dispute, some of them on fundamental issues," Bennet has said in a speech during a conference in Jerusalem.

Bennett has added that Israel, "together with other friends in the world, will continue trying to bridge the gap and bring an end to the war."

Earlier on Monday ,March 2), Bennett has addressed a farewell ceremony for a medical delegation that is heading to western Ukraine where it will set up a field hospital.

"The people of Israel and the Israeli public can be proud of the contribution and assistance given by the state of Israel to Ukraine's citizens," Bennett has said.

On Sunday ,March 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has chided Israel in an address to its parliament, asking why it was not providing missile defences to his country or sanctioning Russia over its invasion.

"Be proud of all of the actions that the state of Israel is taking ,shipping of medical supplies, establishment of a field hospital, actions on other dimensions as well .not many countries operate in such scale," Bennett has told the medical delegation just minutes before its members boarded a plane to Ukraine.
