Ministry of Education and French Embassy in Cambodia Sign on to "Master Plan for French" Project

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the French Embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia have signed jointly signed on to a project on the "Master Plan for the French Language" for the development of a quality foreign language policy. The signing ceremony of the “Master Plan for the French Language” was presided over by the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Hang Chuon Naron, and the Ambassador of the French Republic to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Jacques Pellet.

Recognizing the importance of developing a quality foreign language policy in primary, secondary and tertiary education, the "Master Plan for the French Language" project is designed to be implemented for four years from 2022 to 2025, under the close cooperation between the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the French Embassy in the Kingdom of Cambodia, in order to meet the needs of both quantity and quality in line with the planned reform in the field of education.

It should be noted that in order to ensure the development and monitoring of the master plan for the French language, a working group in charge of the French language has been established under the appointment and management of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, consisting of a steering committee and an executive committee. In addition, a number of Francophone institutions are also involved with the general plan for the French language in Cambodia.
