The Prime Minister Asks Japan to Study and Establish a Free Trade Agreement with Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, has asked Japan to help buy Cambodian products, especially agricultural products. At the same time, the Prime Minister also urged Japan to study and establish a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Cambodia in addition to the existing RCEP agreement.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and then told reporters during a press conference on the evening of 20 March 2022.

Cambodia currently has free trade agreements with Korea and China while the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) became effective in early 2022.
