Japanese PM arrives in Cambodia for two-day visit

Phnom Penh: Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio arrived in Phnom Penh on Sunday, March 20, during a two-day state visit to Cambodia.

His special plane landed at Phnom Penh International Airport at around 3:15 this afternoon.

This afternoon, he will also pay a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during Mr. Kishida Fumio's visit, there will be a bilateral meeting to discuss working with the Prime Minister of Cambodia on strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries, including trade and investment. Investment in education, infrastructure, defense and security, and socio-economic rehabilitation after the Covid-19 crisis, as well as other areas.

The two Prime Ministers will also exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest and concern. At the end of the meeting, the two Prime Ministers will hold a joint press conference. A joint statement between Cambodia and Japan will be issued after the meeting.
