Chinese president announces 20 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: Chinese President Xi Jinping confirmed to Prime Minister Hun Sen that China will provide an additional 20 million doses of the Covid19 vaccine to Cambodia.

This statement was made during a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Hun Sen and Chinese President Xi Jinping by telephone on the afternoon of 18 March 2022.

Of the 20 million doses, 5 million will arrive in Cambodia by the end of March, he said.

In the same meeting, there was also a discussion on the construction of Covid19 vaccine factories in Cambodia in the near future.

Currently, Cambodia has nearly 10 million doses of vaccines available in its warehouses, while more than 92% of the total population of 16 million people have been vaccinated.
