Truck Driver Arrested for Transporting 13 Illegal Immigrants to Thailand

Banteay Meanchey: Border authorities arrested a driver of a truck that intended to transport 13 people illegally across the border to Thailand at 12 midnight on 17 March 2022 at the point of the road in Chambok village, Boeung Beng district. Malai, Banteay Meanchey Province.

According to the police, 13 people, including 5 women and 1 child, were arrested for intending to cross the border illegally into Thailand with a silver Nissan truck with license plate number 2B-3443. The 40-year-old driver lives in Chambok village, Boeung Beng commune, Malai district, Banteay Meanchey province.

Currently, the authorities have sent 13 people to the quarantine center, while the car was sent to the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Gendarmerie Command to take further action in accordance with legal procedures.
