Chinese Traditional Medicine Experts Arrive in Cambodia

Phnom Penh: A group of 12 Chinese traditional medicine experts sent by the Chinese government help to prevent Covid-19, arrived in Phnom Penh for 60 days to diagnose, treat and train in viral disease prevention at the Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital Preah Kosomak.

In the afternoon of 16 March, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health of Cambodia, Mr. Oeun Borath, and Economic and Trade Advisor of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, Mr. Wu Guoquan welcomed them at Phnom Penh International Airport.

The 12-member panel, selected by the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, is the first national medical group in the world to be sent abroad by the Chinese government to join the fight against Covid-19 disease, including specialists in pulmonary disease, cardiovascular disease, acupuncture, and so on.

During their mission in Cambodia, they will conduct diagnostics, treatment, and anti-viral training at the Cambodia-China Friendship Hospital for 60 days, based on the content agreed upon by the Chinese and Cambodian governments to cooperate with Cambodia, to fight against Covid-19 disease.
