DPM Sar Kheng Highly Appreciates the Youth Team Who Work Hard to Contribute to Serve the Nation and The People

PHNOM PENH: Speaking at a meeting with youth leaders in Prey Veng, Battambang, and Banteay Meanchey provinces on the afternoon of 14 March 2022, Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Royal Government Working Group visited Prey Veng and Battambang provinces. There has been a long absence of rallies like today due to the spread of Covid-19, but he was happy to observe that the three provincial youth working groups, with the support of the leadership and sub-national administration, make efforts to contribute to the service of the nation and the people, especially in situations where there is a risk of spreading Covid-19 disease.

Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister, confirmed that the Royal Government of Cambodia has launched effective measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 under the leadership of the Prime Minister, especially the success of the Covid-19 vaccination which builds community resilience, enables Cambodia to re-establish economic and social activities in a new normal direction and earn the admiration and appreciation of the international community.

On that occasion, Sar Kheng also continued to give opinions to the special ceremony of the three provincial youth working groups on the national and international situation. Regarding national affairs, He also highlighted the election process in Cambodia, the process of reforming the sub-national administration in Cambodia through decentralization and deconcentration mechanisms to promote democratic development at the sub-national level, especially the transfer of resources, authority, and responsibilities from the national to the sub-national level as well.

Dr. Ang Serey Piseth, Chairman of the Working Group, said that Cambodia, under the wise and skillful leadership of Prime Minister Hun Sen has set out measures to fight and prevent the spread of Covid-19 disease, including vaccination, build community immunity to the point of reopening socio-economic activities in the new normal trajectory, gain the support and appreciation of the people and the international community.

He said that in the difficult situation caused by Covid-19, the youth working groups of the three provinces have joined forces to continue to work actively and flexibly, following the new normal path to contribute to serving the nation and the people, including Participate in preventing the spread of Covid-19, support the vaccination process, alleviate the burden of people affected by Covid-19 and help people who suffer from various problems, such as natural disasters, and help young people in basically as well.
