New Yorker Charged With Hitting A 67-Year Old Asian Woman More Than 125 Times

INTERNATIONAL: Police in the New York suburb of Yonkers have said on Monday,March 14, they had arrested and charged a man for assaulting a 67-year-old Asian woman, in an attack captured on surveillance video.

The suspect ,42-year-old Tammel Esco, was seen in a CCTV camera punching the elderly woman with a right hook before pummelling the woman repeatedly as she lay on the floor.

Authorities have said Esco had allegedly called her an "Asian bitch" before the attack. Esco was charged with one count of attempted murder as a hate crime, and one count of assault as a hate crime.

The woman suffered multiple contusions, bleeding on the brain and facial bone fractures, but is listed as stable and recovering at a hospital.
