The Interval Between the First and Second Doses for Children Aged 3-5 is 4 Weeks

PHNOM PENH: The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health and Chairperson of the National Commission for Covid-19 Vaccination, Or Vandine, has said that children aged three to five can get their second dose of the vaccine 28 days or four weeks after the first dose.

"Maybe some parents or guardians are confused, so I would like to reiterate that the gap from the first dose to the second dose should be at least 28 days or 4 weeks," she told the National News Agency.

The Secretary of State also called on the general public to go and get the booster dose, while ensuring to keep a gap of four months from the previous vaccine (four months from the second dose to the third dose and another four months from the third dose to fourth dose).

She added that parents or guardians should also bring their children to be vaccinated against Covid-19 and continue to implement the three preventive measures (3 Do's and 3 Don't's) and learn to live with the presence of Covid-19 in the 'new normal' way of life.

As of Sunday, 13 March, Cambodia has vaccinated about 14,750,100 people, equivalent to more than 92% of the total population (16 million), of which more than 260,000 children between the ages of three and five have been reached, accounting for 43% of the target population of 610,000, while vaccinations for people aged five and over have exceeded all set targets.
