Ten Trucks Carrying Vaccines Handed Over to Laos on March 12

Stung Treng: The Royal Government of Cambodia has handed over 10 more trucks carrying vaccines to the Laos government at the Tropaeng Kreal Cambodia-Laos Border Check Point in Stung Treng province, bordering Laos' Champasak province this morning, 12 March.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, Or Vandine, said that the provision of 10 vehicles at this time is an expression of the brotherhood and friendship between Cambodia and Laos, as well as the care of the Prime Minister of Cambodia to the people of neighboring countries. She hopes that the friendship between Cambodia and Laos will grow stronger which will contribute to the development between the two countries and the region.

The Minister of Health of Laos, Bounfeng Phoummalaysith, thanked the Prime Minister as well as the Government of Cambodia for the assistance provided with these vehicles and hoped that the relationship between Cambodia and Laos will continue to grow.

On 3 December 2021, the Cambodian government provided 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines and three trucks carrying the vaccines to the Lao government to assist the country in the fight against Covid-19. The assistance came after a meeting between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh at the Peace Palace on 29 November 2021.

Cambodia has already provided Covid-19 aids to Laos three times, totaling about US $13 million, 700,000 doses of vaccines, two cars, 2.1 million masks and other medical equipment.
