Ministry of Public Works and Transport Does Not Allow the Use of Expressway

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has announced that the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway is currently "not available" for public use.

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport confirmed on 26 September: "Please be patient and wait until 1 October 2022, to officially use [the expressway]."

The Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway project has a total length of more than 190 kilometers. The new expressway passes through 8.3 km of Phnom Penh, 9.1 km of Kandal, 80.8 km of Kampong Speu, 1.92 km of Koh Kong, and 89.89 km of Sihanoukville.

According to the Minister of Public Works and Transport, drivers can use the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway free-of-charge for the whole month of October, and the expressway toll fee will only start being applied in November under terms and conditions.
