Oddar Meanchey Province, August 10, 2025 — A delegation from the Military Attaché Corps Phnom Penh (MACPP) conducted a visit to the Banteay Ampil district in Oddar Meanchey province to assess the current situation in the conflict-affected area and displacement camps following the recent ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand.

The delegation, comprising 14 military attachés from nine countries—Australia, Canada, China, France, Japan, Laos, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and Vietnam—includes representatives both based in Cambodia and stationed abroad. The visit aims to evaluate the aftermath of hostilities and support ongoing stabilization and reconstruction efforts in the region.

On Sunday, the MACPP delegation visited several key sites in Banteay Ampil district, including the Ta Moan Senchey Health Centre, Ta Moan Senchey Primary School, and a nearby petrol station. All these locations had been significantly damaged by Thai bombings during recent hostilities, reflecting the ongoing challenges faced by local communities.

During their inspection, the representatives observed the extent of damage caused by the conflict and interacted with local officials and residents affected by the violence. The visit underscores Cambodia’s efforts to promote transparency, safety, and regional stability in line with the ceasefire, which Cambodia maintains is essential for long-term peace and development.

This delegation’s visit follows continued diplomatic engagement aimed at de-escalating tensions and supporting recovery initiatives in border regions. The international military cooperation demonstrates a shared commitment to peace, security, and strengthening regional partnerships through transparency and mutual understanding.
