PM Congratulates Cambodian Boxers Medal Winners at the Asian Kickboxing Championships 2022

BANGKOK: The Asian Kickboxing Championship 2022 was held in Thailand from 10 – 18 December, with Cambodian athletes taking home 12 medals in total. Winning two gold, five silver and five bronze.

Prime Minister Hun Sen wrote a congratulatory message on his Facebook page: "Congratulations to the Cambodian boxers who won gold, silver, and bronze medals at the 2022 Asian Kickboxing Championship."

Sok Rith of Cambodia won the country's first gold medal after defeating Muboev Sherali of Uzbekistan by points. Cambodians second gold came from Khuon Langkosin after defeating Kazakhstan's Duisenov Dulat also by points in the 57 kg low kick category.

The five silver medals were won by Chhoeung Lveay, Tith Sophorn, Touch Rachan (Beut Sangkhem), Bon Ponleuk, and Saini Sainet. Our bronze medalists were Ly Lysan, Vorn Kimcheng, San Rakim, Met Borin, and Phorn Chanthy (Kon Khla).

Cambodia Kickboxing Federation had sent 3 female and 14 male athletes. A delegation led by President of the Federation Heng Sok Khorn totaling 11 people, inclusion of coaches, assistant coaches, technical officers, and medical team. The tournament took place in Bangkok, Thailand, from December 10 to 18, 2022, with 18 Asian countries participating.
